I remember when this movie came out, he told us that the people making the movie contacted them to get their permission to make reference to Kelly's in the movie and portray it in a slightly negative light. They were fine with it, of course. He said that originally there was supposed to be a scene at the Kelly's where the girl at the counter screwed up the order, but I guess it never was never filmed or never put in the movie. Also, it could have only been the Revere or Saugus locations (a quick drive up Rt. 1 from Boston), as those two were the only ones open at the time. Most likely, Revere though. The Medford location didn't exist until maybe 2006 - it was built as a Krispy Kreme just a few years prior (for their ill-fated expansion into New England).
